Little Tor, which means little mountain, is located in a quiet residential area, in the northern part of New City, New York, just 20 miles from New York City. In addition to our proximity to the world's cultural center, we are fortunate to count among our local natural resources: Harriman State Park, the Hudson River and Bear Mountain State Park. For comprehensive information about Rockland County, explore www.inthecounty.com, Rockland's source for information. Little Tor is one of ten elementary schools in the Clarkstown Central School District. With approximately 290 students in grades K through 5, there's a great student to teacher ratio. It's easy to get to know everyone at Little Tor! Take some time to click away and explore our web site. You'll see why we are all so proud of... Little Tor Elementary School. Every student has the chance to learn in the classroom.... but at Little Tor there are also opportunities to learn outside the classroom through the spirit of challenge and self-expression.
In the Fifth Annual Clarkstown District Invention Convention, held last spring, four Little Tor students won honors. The first place division winners were guest presenters at the New City Rotary Meeting in June. Click the button with the student's project name to see a picture of the work pop up in a separate window. The convention was open to all students in K-6 in the Clarkstown schools. Projects were judged according to creativity, usefulness, and the oral presentation for the judges. "Success Shines On Everyone At Little Tor" |
